Wellness Meets Innovation: SAVI iQ Powers WorldSprings’ All-in-One Audio, Video, and Lighting Control & Automation
Case Study: WorldSprings
SAVI iQ simplifies venue-wide AV and lighting with centralized control and automation, empowering WorldSprings Mineral Springs & Spa to deliver immersive, easy-to-manage guest experiences.
About the Venue
Spanning 10 acres in Grandscape, an open-air lifestyle complex in The Colony, a suburb of Dallas, WorldSprings is Texas’ first outdoor mineral springs and spa experience of its kind - and the largest in the United States. Combining the healing benefits of mineral springs and the positive power of social connection, WorldSprings is an experiential water retreat inspired by nature’s spas and the curative effects of mineral-rich water. Year round, guests can explore 46 outdoor soaking pools including cold-plunge pools, Finnish saunas, a spa, cafe, bar, and more.
When WorldSprings owners Off Road Capital Partners – also founders of sister location, Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado – wanted to ensure seamless technology integration and the perfect user experience for their operators, to also guarantee the best-possible visitor experience, they turned to SAVI iQ, formerly SAVI Controls, to deliver the control and automation platform.
Video Distribution and Digital Signage with SAVI Canvas
SAVI Canvas video distribution and content delivery was chosen as the perfect solution for controlling and distributing content to audio, video and lighting products throughout WorldSprings. SAVI Canvas is designed to work natively with LG commercial displays, leveraging LG’s webOS software to eliminate the need for separate boxes behind each display. System integrator ComNet Communications was brought in to commission the project, the first of a countrywide roll-out of SAVI controlled Off Road Capital Partners mineral springs and spa experiences. ComNet is set to complete the next one in Zion National Park, Utah, in 2025.
“When we started the WorldSprings project, ultimately, we needed to find a product that was easy to use, without the need to have disparate systems across the site. All-in-one was always the goal, tying together displays, audio and lighting, which all needed to talk and work together seamlessly, with the user experience of our operators – often part-time employees, rather than IT professionals,” said Blake Peterson, Director of Real Estate and Construction at WorldSprings.
“Utilizing SAVI has been a great experience, and our operators can use it with ease; it doesn't take a massive team to run the system. It's as simple as pulling up the iPad or the computer to change zonal lighting, or content for audio and displays – super easy to use and something that we can replicate as we roll-out more of these mineral springs and spa experiences.”
Seamless Integration with LG webOS
The SAVI Canvas video distribution solution controls and integrates 27 LG commercial displays across the property from one central location. The displays, ranging from 50-98” in size, including two outdoor-rated 55” models, deliver wayfinding and signage. SAVI and LG’s all-in-one webOS-integrated displays are fully compatible, and do not require external devices, saving on additional purchase, maintenance, and replacement costs by removing that extra point of failure behind each display.
Enhancing the Guest Experience with AV
Audio, video, and lighting are central to the guest experience at WorldSprings, creating an immersive ambiance and environment. SAVI Server Pro, SAVI’s core processor, controls, manages, and automates the experience across the entire property. From 78 QSC loudspeakers to 83 Leon outdoor speakers, every indoor and outdoor area is blanketed in music. Distributed content sources, 16 in total, are delivered by SAVI STREAM.One encoders while the SAVI controlled custom Lutron lighting system completes the retreat-like atmosphere.
“SAVI was a natural fit for its native signage features and ability to distribute live TV content: the right solution given everything else in the marketplace. Why? Because of the way they solve the problem! It’s effectively the signage and content distribution solution,” explained Frank Chaloupka, Audio Visual Design & Estimation Manager, ComNet Communications.
“We are effectively able to deploy a limitless number of displays, loudspeakers and lighting anywhere throughout the site, all seamlessly, tightly integrated and controlled by SAVI. It's AV integration in the 21st century, where we're taking disparate manufacturers’ products and making it all behave like one cohesive system.”
Future Plans
As additional Off Road Capital Partners spa locations are rolled out, SAVI plans to further streamline operations with its ‘future cloud services’, an additional component of the SAVI and LG webOS platform integration, facilitating remote connectivity, viewability, and control from one off-site command center or virtually any location – ideal for multiple-site functionality.
“We control and automate audio, video and lighting in the WorldSprings venue, with everything centrally managed, delivering a user-friendly turnkey solution,” said Vinnie Anastasi, Regional Sales Director, SAVI iQ. “The owners’ vision was to create individual moods, with programmable lighting and sound that adjusts during the day, alongside easily changeable display content. We worked with ComNet to fulfill this dream, and WorldSprings Grandscape is effectively the blueprint moving forward. Now that all the pieces of the puzzle are in place, this solution can be replicated across all other planned Off Road Capital Partners properties. And the operation will become even easier with SAVI Cloud.”
The last word goes to WorldSprings’ Blake Peterson: “We have enough mechanicals to worry about with our pool systems and water quality, without headaches from the essential AV components. Luckily our decision to choose SAVI, delivered by ComNet, to integrate and control all this great AV, has paid huge dividends.”
